My Running Bircher Breakfast
What is Bircher muesli?
Its a delicious breakfast created originally by a Swiss doctor. Its a great start to my day when I know I’m planning to get in some running miles.
All of the ingredients offer a different flavour and all offer different nutritional qualities.
For the Bircher
200ml oat milk
200ml orange juice (bits in and not from concentrate)
300g rolled porridge oats
100g fresh blueberries
50g whole toasted almonds
50g mix of seeds (i used sunflower, pumpkin and chia)
half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon
In terms of a recipe, you simply need to mix all ingredients in a bowl. The night before is best but a few hours of rest in the fridge is enough. I like to top it with natural yogurt and some honey if I feel like eating it a little bit sweeter.
